Yin Flower Tea Packaging

Yin Flower Tea Packaging

Yin Flower Tea Packaging is an innovative and multifunctional packaging design solution that transforms the traditional tea packaging experience into an interactive and sustainable product. Created by designers Zhen Yang, Chunwang Yang, and Jialu Yang in 2021, this sophisticated packaging system features six distinct color-coded compartments, each dedicated to a specific variety of scented tea. The design's most distinctive characteristic lies in its ingenious integration of laser-engraved floral patterns, which correspond to the actual flowers used in each tea blend. These precisely carved perforations serve a dual purpose: they not only create an elegant visual representation of the tea's botanical ingredients but also function as light-diffusing elements when combined with the included LED light source. The packaging's dimensions, measuring 85x175x255mm for the outer box and 80x80x80mm for each inner compartment, are carefully calculated to optimize both storage efficiency and aesthetic presentation. The design demonstrates exceptional material efficiency through its use of high-quality paper combined with precise laser-cutting technology, resulting in a product that seamlessly merges functionality with artistic expression. This innovative approach to tea packaging, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2022, exemplifies how contemporary packaging design can extend beyond its primary protective function to offer additional value through sustainable, repurposable features. The transformation of the packaging into an ambient lighting fixture after the tea's consumption represents a thoughtful solution to packaging waste, while the warm, romantic illumination created by the LED-lit floral patterns adds an experiential dimension to the product's afterlife.
