XUPIN Main meeting hall is an innovative architectural interior space design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of Chinese traditional culture with contemporary meeting space functionality. Located within a distinctive red-brick building surrounded by expansive lawns in an industrial park setting, this 1000-square-meter facility represents a significant departure from conventional corporate meeting spaces through its thoughtful integration of Jiangnan aesthetic principles. Designed by Jiang Guoxing, the space deliberately breaks away from strict business formality, instead creating an atmosphere that evokes traditional Chinese ink paintings through its careful material selection and spatial arrangement. The design employs a sustainable approach by incorporating reclaimed materials, including old wooden boards, black floor tiles, and black metal mesh, which undergo meticulous preservation and anticorrosive treatment. The space functions as a dynamic environment, transforming from a serene, contemplative setting when empty to an animated theatrical space when occupied, reflecting the designer's vision of creating a venue that resonates with both natural beauty and cultural depth. This innovative approach to meeting hall design earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, receiving an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its contribution to advancing the field of interior design through its unique cultural interpretation and sustainable material usage. The project, completed in December 2016, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its execution, from the careful selection and treatment of recycled materials to the thoughtful integration of traditional Chinese design elements, creating a space that serves both functional and aesthetic purposes while maintaining a strong connection to its cultural roots.
