Xtreat Lounge Chair

Xtreat Lounge Chair

Xtreat Lounge Chair is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of natural forms and mathematical precision, drawing inspiration from wind-carved canyons and spider web geometries. Created through meticulous handcrafting techniques, this sophisticated lounge chair features a distinctive hollow backrest that enhances both its aesthetic appeal and ergonomic functionality. The chair's construction showcases premium materials, including laminated Iroko wood for the sculptural shell, ergonomically arranged multi-density foam cushioning, and refined cow leather upholstery, complemented by laser-cut steel legs. With dimensions of 650mm in width, 700mm in depth, and 1100mm in height, the chair demonstrates a thoughtful balance between spatial efficiency and comfortable proportions. The design philosophy behind Xtreat emphasizes the integration of artistic expression with practical comfort, making it particularly suitable for contemporary residential and commercial environments. The creation process involved months of collaborative effort between designers and craftspeople, resulting in a piece that exemplifies the marriage of traditional craftsmanship with modern design principles. The chair's dynamic curves and anthropometric finishes create an engaging sensory experience, while its wooden shell introduces an element of natural elegance. This design excellence was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2018, acknowledging its innovative approach to combining aesthetics with functionality. The chair represents a significant achievement in furniture design, offering users of varying body types an optimal seating experience while serving as a sculptural element that enhances interior spaces.
