WOVEN TEXTURE Living
WOVEN TEXTURE Living is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the sophisticated integration of natural materials and spatial design principles, created by renowned designer Kris Lin. This groundbreaking residential space design, which earned the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space Design category, showcases a masterful exploration of material textures and their application in large-scale architectural surfaces. The project's distinguishing feature is its innovative use of Cassia siamea (Siamese senna) timber veneer, which has been expertly processed and installed to create an intricate woven texture pattern that seamlessly extends from the television feature wall to the ceiling and continues to the sofa background wall. This deliberate design choice effectively dissolves traditional architectural boundaries between vertical and horizontal surfaces, resulting in a unified and expansive spatial experience within the 600-square-meter space. The design's significance lies in its revolutionary approach to material application, where the natural characteristics of timber veneer are leveraged to create a contemporary interpretation of traditional weaving patterns. Located in Guangzhou, China, this project demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its material selection and installation methodology, establishing new paradigms for interior surface treatment. The design's success in harmoniously blending functional requirements with aesthetic innovation earned recognition from the A' Design Award's jury, highlighting its contribution to advancing interior design practices through its creative material application and spatial planning strategies.
