Woods Casting Residential is an award-winning architectural interior design project completed in 2017 in Taichung City, Taiwan, exemplifying a sophisticated approach to residential spatial design through its innovative use of horizontal axes and natural elements. The 265-square-meter residence, designed by Jacksam Yang and Steven Kuo, demonstrates exceptional integration of interior and exterior spaces through thoughtful architectural elements. The design's primary concept revolves around the harmonious relationship between built environment and natural surroundings, featuring a distinctive long-stretched space where horizontal axes extend throughout every facade and window. A defining characteristic of the project is its refined metal sliding door system, which effectively dissolves traditional boundaries between interior and exterior spaces, incorporating neighboring vegetation into the living environment. The residence's design philosophy emphasizes the importance of natural lighting and material selection, incorporating floor-to-ceiling windows that enable residents to observe the daily progression of light and shadow.
