Will Would Art Exhibition Hall is an innovative architectural and interior design project that exemplifies a sophisticated approach to creating multifunctional art exhibition spaces. Located in Shenzhen, China, this thoughtfully conceived space represents a paradigm shift in exhibition hall design, incorporating both commercial and artistic elements while maintaining a strong focus on accessibility and inclusivity. The design, completed in January 2021 by architect Churan Sa, features a distinctive double-height space with two wooden boxes housing mezzanine platforms that serve both office and exhibition functions. The ground floor is deliberately planned as an open art exhibition hall and salon, where the artworks themselves guide visitor circulation patterns. The space's innovative design overcomes traditional lighting challenges through strategic architectural interventions, including the relocation of the stairway beneath windows and the transformation of inner courtyard walls into viewing windows. Three integrated courtyards create a seamless flow between different functional areas, with natural light penetrating both horizontally and vertically through the space. The material palette employs cold grey terrazzo, simple wood veneer, composite flooring, and bronze brushed stainless steel, creating a neutral yet sophisticated aesthetic environment. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, represents a significant advancement in democratizing art exhibition spaces, challenging conventional notions of gallery design by creating an environment that celebrates both established and emerging artists.
