White Space Orthodontic Clinic

White Space Orthodontic Clinic

White Space Orthodontic Clinic is an avant-garde medical facility that revolutionizes the traditional concept of orthodontic care through innovative spatial design and cutting-edge technology integration. Located in Catania, Italy, this pioneering 270-square-meter facility seamlessly merges advanced medical functionality with child-centric design principles, featuring a continuous white Corian shell that serves as both architectural envelope and functional interface. The clinic's distinctive design philosophy emphasizes the pedagogical value of architecture, transforming conventional medical spaces into interactive environments that encourage self-directed exploration, particularly beneficial for its primary demographic of young patients. The facility's innovative design, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, incorporates sophisticated technological elements including OLED lighting modules and custom-designed interactive features. The interior architecture manifests through meticulously crafted details, including ergonomic deformations such as integrated coat hangers and toothbrush holders, alongside technical implants featuring touchscreens and medical information displays. A centerpiece of the design is the multifunctional furniture system, featuring interconnected spherical voids that create grotto-like spaces for exploration, complemented by dedicated areas for creative activities and learning. The clinic's sophisticated use of materials, particularly the 500 square meters of Corian surfaces manufactured through CNC milling and thermoforming processes, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship that mirrors the precision of orthodontic practice. The integration of playful signage graphics positioned at children's eye level, combined with the ethereal glow of pioneering OLED technology, creates an environment that successfully balances clinical functionality with psychological comfort.
