White For Elegance Residential Space
White for Elegance Residential Space is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in December 2020 in Taipei, Taiwan, encompassing 73 square meters of thoughtfully crafted living space. This Nordic-inspired renovation transforms a three-decade-old apartment into a sophisticated haven for newlyweds, masterfully executed by designers Hsin-Hui Chang and Liang-Chun Kuo. The design's cornerstone is its expansive use of white, creating an atmosphere of lightness and cleanliness, strategically balanced with dark wooden furniture that adds visual weight and architectural gravitas. The space features distinctive elements including hexagonal tile flooring at the entrance and kitchen areas, creating a meaningful transition between exterior and interior spaces. The innovative layout incorporates a centrally positioned dining area, enhanced by metallic pendant lighting and complementary chair elements, while a mini bar provides an intimate space for casual refreshments. The design's sophisticated approach to natural light optimization is evident in the glass-partitioned study area and bedroom, which share illumination through thoughtful spatial planning. Storage solutions are elegantly integrated, including a floating cabinet at the entrance and a glass sliding door closet system. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies excellence in residential space planning through its harmonious blend of Scandinavian aesthetics, functional design elements, and careful material selection, creating an enduring environment that balances elegance with practicality.
