Wheat Bunch Collection is an innovative furniture ensemble that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of nature-inspired design and contemporary craftsmanship, consisting of a round dining table and accompanying chairs that capture the essence of bundled wheat stalks in their form. Created by Iranian designer Ali Sharifi Omid, this collection represents a sophisticated interpretation of biomorphic design principles, where the table's base elements mirror wheat stems while the glass plate support system emulates a gathered wheat bunch, unified by distinctive leather ribbon detailing. The design, which garnered a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2021, showcases a masterful integration of steel sheet material, glass, and leather, demonstrating the possibilities of modern manufacturing techniques, particularly CNC machine cutting methods, in furniture production. The dining table, measuring 120 centimeters in diameter and 78 centimeters in height, features a thoughtfully considered aesthetic where the repetition of circular arcs around a central axis in the chair backs creates a visual harmony with the table's underlying structure while ensuring ergonomic comfort. This collection emerged from extensive research into steel sheet capabilities and their application in furniture components, representing a year-long exploration of material possibilities.
