Well Vision Educational Center
Well Vision Educational Center is an innovative international facility dedicated to microscopic education, designed with a distinctive architectural approach that seamlessly integrates form and function. Located in Taichung and completed in July 2017, this educational center primarily serves professional medical practitioners, experts, and scholars from around the globe. The architectural design, conceived by Chang Mei-Ching, draws inspiration from the iconic London Eye, featuring slanted structures and a circular steel piece that creates an open-minded vision and serves as a city landmark. The 155-square-meter space is thoughtfully divided into two primary zones: a recreation area and a research zone, optimizing functionality while maintaining spatial harmony. The recreation area functions as a composite space featuring an L-shaped counter, facilitating knowledge exchange and relaxation, while the modular research zone incorporates wooden shutters that balance transparency with privacy. The center's design excellence is evident in its sophisticated material selection, including Denmark ROCKFON green building materials for the ceiling, providing moisture-proof, soundproof, and fireproof properties, and Swedish Bolon woven carpet chosen for its anti-wear and fire-resistant qualities. The interior ambiance is enhanced through strategic lighting design, with the recreation area featuring subtle illumination for comfort, while the research zone employs abundant lighting for optimal visibility. The project's innovative approach to space utilization and technical integration, including hidden circuit systems and ERV installation for air quality management, earned it the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, recognizing its contribution to educational facility design excellence.
