Waving Ribbon Sales Center

Waving Ribbon Sales Center is an innovative architectural and interior design project completed in 2017 in Zhengzhou, China, that serves as a sophisticated sales and exhibition space for a large-scale community development. The 1,100-square-meter structure, designed by Kris Lin and Jiayu Yang, exemplifies a harmonious blend of form and function through its distinctive floating light box appearance and fluid geometric design elements. The building's exterior is characterized by simple, free-flowing curve lines that create a striking visual presence, while the interior space is thoughtfully organized across two floors to maximize functionality and aesthetic appeal. The second floor houses five mock-up rooms and a 150-square-meter construction technology exhibition zone, while the first floor accommodates meeting areas that offer views of the exterior landscape pond through expansive glass walls. The design's most notable feature is its innovative use of interlacing grey and white ribbon motifs that serve both decorative and spatial organization purposes, seamlessly connecting and defining different areas throughout both levels. This architectural solution effectively addresses the challenge of its location within an older urban context by elevating the viewing experiences to the second floor, creating an engaging visual dialogue between interior and exterior spaces. The project, which won a Golden A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, demonstrates exceptional achievement in combining aesthetic innovation with practical functionality, setting new standards for sales center design through its sophisticated use of materials, including various types of marble and precisely crafted wooden elements.
