Water Sensitive Urbanism

Water Sensitive Urbanism in landscape design uses the shape of land and plants to slow down and clean rainwater before it reaches rivers or drains. Designers can make small hills, dips, and plant beds that hold water for a short time, letting it soak into the ground. This helps keep parks and city spaces cooler and greener, and it gives birds and insects more places to live. Using native plants in these areas means less watering is needed, and these plants can help filter out pollution from the water.
