Warm White A Private Residence

Warm White A Private Residence

Warm White A Private Residence is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies contemporary minimalist aesthetics while harmoniously blending diverse design preferences. Located in Mumbai's western suburbs, this 180-square-meter apartment showcases a sophisticated approach to residential interior design through its predominant white color palette punctuated by thoughtfully placed color accents. The design, created by architect Prashant Chauhan in collaboration with stylist Anu Chauhan, features several innovative elements including flippable mirror fins in the living room that serve both aesthetic and functional purposes by creating visual interest while providing privacy to the dining area. The space demonstrates exceptional attention to detail through its integration of personal elements, such as the incorporation of Chinar leaf motifs inlaid in copper on the white marble flooring, paying homage to Kashmir's cultural heritage. The interior architecture seamlessly combines different spatial zones, with the living area featuring a crisp open layout complemented by French doors with Georgian bars that connect to a balcony space. The balcony design showcases a sophisticated transition from interior white flooring to exterior cement flooring through a hexagonal grid pattern, while its faux wood ceiling incorporates concealed starry lights for ambient evening illumination. The project, which garnered a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, is particularly notable for its successful marriage of contrasting client preferences, integrating both minimalist white aesthetics and warm wooden elements. The design's sophisticated features include an integrated oven within the dining area's backing counter, carefully selected botanical artwork that complements the upholstery choices, and a practical barbecue counter in the balcony that can be tucked away when not in use.
