Warm Loft House

Warm Loft House

Warm Loft House is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully blends industrial aesthetics with warm, natural materials to create a uniquely comfortable living space. Completed in February 2018 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, this 73-square-meter dwelling represents a sophisticated departure from conventional industrial-style interiors through its thoughtful integration of natural wood elements, steel, and ENT pipes. The design, conceived by architect Tienyu Wu, addresses the complex challenge of optimizing a 2800mm height space while maintaining a sense of openness and comfort. The project's distinctive feature lies in its intricate network of pipes that flow seamlessly through different spaces, controlling various lighting elements and creating unique atmospheric conditions. The material palette combines black-painted steel, chamaecyparis thyoides, walnut, gray glass, LVT plastic floor, concrete (Lotos), and diatomaceous earth, resulting in a harmonious balance between industrial rawness and organic warmth. This innovative approach to residential design earned the project a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its excellence in spatial planning, material selection, and functional innovation. The design's success lies in its ability to transform the clients' initial request for a dark, loft-style space into a light industrial aesthetic that promotes joyful living through its careful consideration of natural materials and thoughtful space planning.
