Warm Hot Pot Restaurant
Warm Hot Pot Restaurant is an innovative interior design project that reimagines the traditional seafood hot pot dining experience in Keelung, Taiwan's largest northern harbor city. This sophisticated restaurant design, created by Chung Chun Huang, masterfully challenges conventional oceanic design aesthetics by departing from typical blue maritime themes in favor of warm apricot yellow tones, creating a unique brand identity within the commercial space. The interior architecture thoughtfully incorporates elements that pay homage to local heritage, including Spanish ceramic tile flooring that references the region's 17th-century colonial period and Fort San Salvador. The flagship establishment's design philosophy centers on creating a harmonious balance between modern urban sophistication and Japanese humanistic sensibilities, achieved through a strategic combination of dark color schemes and natural elements. A distinctive feature of the space is its architecturally striking ceiling treatment, where deconstructed wave patterns are interpreted through arc-style yellow curtains, offering a contemporary interpretation of maritime imagery. The design further enhances the dining experience through the integration of a vertical garden wall, which not only creates a visual connection to the fresh ingredients essential to hot pot dining but also reflects Taiwan's biodiversity. This thoughtfully executed design, which was completed in September 2019, earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design, material selection, and cultural integration.
