Wanwea Yun Restaurant is an innovative culinary establishment that masterfully blends Beijing and Sichuan gastronomy, housed within a sophisticated 1,800-square-meter interior space designed by acclaimed designer Jiang Min. The restaurant's name derives from Wan Wei, symbolizing the perpetual pursuit of culinary excellence and diverse cooking methodologies. The interior design demonstrates a harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary aesthetics, featuring polished Suriname black marble flooring, mirror ceilings, and thoughtfully curated displays of ancient wine vessels alongside Sichuan embroidery. The space is distinguished by its artistic centerpiece in the arrival area, comprising over 100 different food seeds preserved in resin, arranged according to their regional origins to create a compelling cultural narrative. The restaurant's layout incorporates dedicated areas for private dining, each thoughtfully segmented into distinct zones for relaxation, tea appreciation, and dining, reflecting Eastern ceremonial traditions while maintaining modern comfort. The design employs sophisticated materials including wood, baking paint, and electroplated metal, while featuring innovative ceiling installations of translucent fish-shaped decorations that create an artistic interpretation of natural elements. This exceptional design, which was completed in January 2023 in Chengdu, earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to contemporary restaurant design and cultural preservation.
