Vonk Fuse Picknicktable

Vonk Fuse Picknicktable

Vonk Fuse Picknicktable is an innovative outdoor furniture design that reimagines the classic picnic table through a sophisticated combination of durability and contemporary aesthetics. Created by Belgian designer Jonas Willems, this architectural furniture piece exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional materials with modern construction principles. The design features a distinctive construction method, detailed in Birkhauser's Timber Construction Manual, that employs a sophisticated system of inserts and bolts to prevent wood warping and dishing, while maintaining structural integrity. Crafted from premium hardwoods such as FSC-certified Iroko, Afzelia, Padouk, or Afrormosia, combined with 5mm laser-cut steel frames, the table demonstrates exceptional durability and weather resistance. Available in multiple dimensions (1800/2400/3000 x 1850 x 730mm), the design incorporates warm galvanized frames that can be anchored for stability and feature high resistance to both climatic conditions and human interaction. The table's versatile design allows for multidirectional seating and various social interactions, while its powder-coated finish accentuates its clean lines and contemporary form. This design excellence was recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to outdoor furniture design. The table's construction incorporates reinforcement plates for a smooth surface finish, and all components are carefully selected for maximum durability, including stainless steel M8 bolts and synthetic felt surface protection, making it suitable for both public and private outdoor spaces.
