Vodafone Data Store Flagship is an innovative retail interior design project that revolutionizes the traditional concept of telecommunications retail spaces through its distinctive architectural approach. Completed in 2012 in Ostrava, Czech Republic, this groundbreaking design transforms a corporate logo from a two-dimensional floor graphic into a dynamic three-dimensional sculptural element crafted from Corian material. The central architectural feature, constructed using 6mm and 12mm Corian sheets reinforced with steel ribs, creates organic walls and ceiling formations that define distinct functional zones within the space. This flagship store, designed by Luka Krizek of IO Studio, represents a departure from conventional retail layouts by offering customers an immersive journey of discovery rather than a traditional open-plan retail environment. The innovative use of materials and space earned this project a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its contribution to advancing retail design standards. The design's technical complexity is particularly evident in its suspended structural elements, which are partially supported by steel strands from the ceiling while being anchored to the floor, creating a unique architectural statement that seamlessly integrates corporate identity with spatial experience. The interior is further enhanced by custom-designed furniture pieces that complement the organic flow of the space, creating a cohesive and forward-thinking retail environment that prioritizes customer experience and brand immersion.
