Villa Time Residence
Villa Time Residence is an exemplary residential architectural project located in the countryside of Miaoli, Taiwan, showcasing innovative interior design solutions for multi-generational living. The two-story residence, encompassing 330 square meters of living space complemented by a 230-square-meter outdoor courtyard, demonstrates sophisticated spatial planning and aesthetic refinement. Designed by Tzu Cheng Huang, the residence features a dramatic entryway characterized by dark materials and black wood textures, creating an intriguing visual narrative that transitions into expansive interior spaces. The design philosophy emphasizes seamless flow between communal areas, with an open-plan configuration connecting the living room, dining room, and kitchen to facilitate family interaction and entertainment. The first floor accommodates shared spaces including a fitness room, study, and parent's quarters, while the second floor houses private bedrooms for different family units. Notable design elements include the innovative application of stone skin coating, which required meticulous layering and craftsmanship to achieve its distinctive texture. The exterior design integrates harmoniously with its rural surroundings through a thoughtfully landscaped courtyard featuring sod, trees, and plastic wood flooring. The project, completed in February 2023, earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial design and functionality. The residence's material palette combines warm lighting with strategic orange accents to create visual depth, while the overall design successfully balances privacy requirements with communal living needs for three generations.
