Vial Plugs
Vial plugs are small, cylindrical components used to seal the opening of a vial. These plugs are typically made from rubber or silicone and are designed to fit snugly into the mouth of a vial, creating an airtight seal that prevents the contents of the vial from leaking out or becoming contaminated. Vial plugs are commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry to seal vials containing medications or vaccines, as well as in the laboratory setting to seal vials containing biological samples or reagents. Vial plugs come in a variety of sizes and shapes to accommodate different types of vials. Some vial plugs are designed to be pierced by a needle, allowing for easy withdrawal of the contents of the vial without removing the plug. Other vial plugs are designed to be removed entirely, either by pulling them out or by using a tool to extract them. In some cases, vial plugs may be coated with a lubricant to make them easier to insert or remove. The use of vial plugs is an important part of ensuring the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products and laboratory samples. By creating a secure seal, vial plugs help to prevent contamination and maintain the integrity of the contents of the vial. In addition, vial plugs can help to extend the shelf life of pharmaceutical products by preventing the loss of potency or degradation of the active ingredients.
