Versatile Decadence Outhouse Interiors

Versatile Decadence Outhouse Interiors

Versatile Decadence Outhouse Interiors is an innovative architectural regeneration project that transformed a dilapidated outhouse into a sophisticated entertainment space, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space Design. This 3,300-square-foot residential interior project, designed by Hiloni Sutaria Chudgar, masterfully integrates formal and informal spaces through fluid, parametric design inspired by contemporary transportation aesthetics. The design's centerpiece is a multifunctional cabinet featuring compound curves that houses HVAC systems, automation controls, pantry facilities, and media equipment while serving as a visual partition between spaces. The formal entertainment area transitions seamlessly into a playful informal zone, characterized by a striking red pool with curved ascending steps. The project demonstrates exceptional attention to technical innovation, particularly in its custom-designed hydraulic hinges for compound curve surfaces and a unique ceiling crafted from repurposed facade panels, which creates mesmerizing light reflections on the water surface. The design's success lies in its ability to overcome significant technical challenges in a small Indian town, achieving precision in complex curved structures while maintaining budget efficiency. The space exemplifies adaptive reuse principles, incorporating sustainable design practices through material reuse and thoughtful integration with the surrounding landscape, while the metallic finish of the cabinet creates a sense of directionality and visual calm within the dynamic space. The project, completed over seven months, represents a harmonious blend of luxury, functionality, and innovative design solutions, setting new standards in interior architecture and spatial planning.
