Vapour Sohna Road Resturant And Bar

Vapour Sohna Road Resturant And Bar

Vapour Sohna Road Restaurant and Bar is an innovative hospitality design project that reimagines the traditional dining experience by incorporating the dynamic atmosphere of a stock exchange, completed in 2016 in Gurgaon, India. This Silver A' Design Award-winning establishment distinguishes itself through its architectural approach of maintaining a non-imposing, high-ceiling volume that creates an open, airy atmosphere while facilitating visual connectivity among guests. The design philosophy emphasizes sustainability and authenticity through the thoughtful use of natural and recyclable materials, including fly ash bricks left in their original state and repurposed packing wood, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint. The space is strategically segmented into five distinct areas: an entrance foyer with adjacent restrooms, a main restaurant area featuring bar counter seating, lounge seating, general island seating, a mezzanine level, and outdoor roadside seating. The interior design draws inspiration from 1980s stock exchanges, fostering an environment where social interaction naturally occurs amid the unique concept of drink bidding. Natural lighting plays a crucial role in the design, with deliberate architectural choices allowing abundant daylight penetration during daytime hours and strategic evening illumination that enhances spatial perception. The lighting fixtures serve dual purposes as both illumination sources and space definers, creating intimate dining zones within the larger volume.
