Vanke Hakka Culture Exhibition Plaza Ancestral Hall Landscape
Vanke Hakka Culture Exhibition Plaza Ancestral Hall Landscape is a significant cultural heritage renovation project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of traditional Hakka architecture with contemporary design principles. Located in the Lingnan area, this 5,900-square-meter landscape development masterfully connects an ancestral hall with a commercial district, preserving and celebrating the deep-rooted cultural significance of family lineage in Chinese society. The project, completed in December 2019, demonstrates exceptional sensitivity to cultural preservation while incorporating modern spatial design elements. Through thoughtful architectural interpretation, the design incorporates traditional Lingnan elements such as gable walls, bucket arches, blue flagstones, black bricks, tiles, oyster walls, and authentic farm tools, seamlessly blending them into a cohesive landscape narrative. The space features innovative lighting solutions that transform the environment during evening hours, creating an atmospheric interplay between traditional architecture and contemporary illumination techniques. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Cultural Heritage and Culture Industry Design category stands out for its successful resolution of the challenge between preserving historical authenticity and meeting modern urban needs. The design's spatial layout progresses from interior to exterior spaces, incorporating traditional Lingnan carving patterns and glaze mosaics through careful remodeling, while serving as an educational platform for Hakka cultural heritage and providing a recreational space for urban residents.
