Urban Pop Art Concept is an innovative artistic exploration that examines the significance of British culture within the context of a rapidly evolving urban cosmopolitan society, created under the artist pseudonym H.DD8. This mixed-media collection represents a sophisticated fusion of cultural iconography, combining British pop culture elements with American and Asian influences to create a dynamic visual dialogue. The artistic series, which commenced in 2015 in London, employs a diverse range of materials and techniques, including collage, found objects, graffiti paint, neon light, vinyl moulding, and silk-screen printed aluminium, to create pieces ranging from 30cm to 100cm in size. The collection draws inspiration from British Pop, Rock, Punk, and Fashion from the late 1960s to contemporary times, featuring iconic British symbols such as Churchill and the Bulldog, juxtaposed with international cultural elements to create thought-provoking visual narratives. This ongoing artistic investigation, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Limited Edition and Custom Design category, serves as a platform for exploring multiculturalism and inter-generational attitudes towards popular arts and culture, questioning the nature of cultural memes and their propagation while examining the essence of British identity in a global context. The works are designed for both wall-mounted and horizontal surface display, incorporating multiple cultural references that resonate with viewers across different generations, making it particularly suitable for installation in hospitality spaces where it can stimulate meaningful discussions among staff and customers.
