Uni-park Daxing Community Shopping Center

Uni-park Daxing Community Shopping Center is an innovative architectural development located in the south region of Beijing, representing a sophisticated approach to modern community-centered retail design. This five-story structure, spanning an impressive 93,584.9 square meters of gross floor area on a 17,873.466-square-meter plot, seamlessly integrates shopping facilities with social spaces through its thoughtful architectural composition. Drawing inspiration from the adjacent Nanhaizi park, a former royal hunting ground and national elk reserve, the design maintains a harmonious connection with its natural surroundings while creating an inviting urban environment. The building's distinctive features include a three-story co-living space positioned in the northwest corner, characterized by a dramatic glass wall that opens to the street, creating transparency and visual connection with the community. The western façade incorporates stepping terraces that provide multiple outdoor activity spaces, culminating in an accessible rooftop garden that enhances the building's environmental integration. The structure employs advanced engineering solutions, utilizing a steel structural system that enables a bold 5-meter overhang above the main entrance, creating a striking sense of arrival. The exterior combines stone panels, insulated glass units, and aluminum panels to achieve both aesthetic appeal and functional efficiency. Recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category in 2021, this project demonstrates exceptional achievement in addressing contemporary urban challenges through innovative spatial design. The development successfully transforms the traditional self-contained shopping mall paradigm into an open, transparent commercial space that actively engages with its surroundings, creating a vital community hub that serves as both a retail destination and a social catalyst for the Daxing district.
