Ungrey Private Apartment In Mumbai

Ungrey Private Apartment In Mumbai

Ungrey Private Apartment in Mumbai is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies a bold departure from conventional grey-toned contemporary spaces, transforming a 200-square-meter apartment into a vibrant artistic living environment. Conceived and executed by architect Prashant Chauhan and his creative team, this distinctive project employs color blocking as its primary design feature, utilizing micro-cement layering techniques on existing flooring and walls to create a seamless, artistic composition. The design philosophy deliberately challenges the prevalent trend of monochromatic grey interiors, instead embracing a dynamic interplay of forms and colors that extends continuously across walls and floors. The apartment's transformation involved a meticulous process of surface preparation, including thorough cleaning and precise marking of proposed forms to ensure accurate design execution. The innovative application of micro-cement in various colors, finished with protective coating, creates a durable and visually striking environment. This Iron A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design category demonstrates exceptional creativity in residential design, completed over an eight-month period. The project's success lies in its ability to overcome technical challenges, particularly in achieving proper floor adhesion for the micro-cement application and perfecting the color palette. The design includes custom-manufactured elements such as a bar unit and credenza, contributing to the overall artistic vision. The space serves as a testament to the possibility of transforming conventional living spaces into personalized art installations while maintaining functionality and comfort.
