Uber HK Workplace Office

Uber HK Workplace Office is an innovative workplace design project that exemplifies the seamless integration of global corporate culture with local architectural traditions in a 9,000-square-foot space located in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The design, conceived by architects Lorène Faure and Kenny Kinugasa-Tsui, draws profound inspiration from Gottfried Semper's theoretical work on vessels, embodying the concept of form and function as a cohesive whole. The defining feature of this workplace is a continuous blue-colored volume that elegantly wraps around the central core, housing various functional spaces including meeting rooms, phone booths, private work areas, printing facilities, storage solutions, and a pantry. This sophisticated design earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its exceptional approach to workplace architecture. The space is characterized by its thoughtful balance between confidentiality requirements and inclusive brand narrative, achieved through the strategic use of misty gradient glass partitions and curtains. At its heart lies a cafe pantry designed to facilitate large social events, independent working, and informal meetings, reflecting a human-centric approach to workplace design. Notable features include a collaborative bar island, stage seating, and a signature 20-meter-long table with integrated cushioned seats offering views of the city racecourse and sports grounds. The reception area showcases a distinctive blend of vibrantly colored tiled walls and floors, complemented by handcrafted neon signage and a felt-wrapped reception desk inspired by luxury automotive seating, while an intricate wall art by a local artist depicts a floating city vessel incorporating Hong Kong landmarks and Feng Shui symbols.
