U Media Office
U Media Office is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies modern workplace aesthetics through its sophisticated implementation of minimalist design principles and thoughtful spatial organization. Located in Qingdao, China, this 100-square-meter office space showcases a masterful blend of functionality and artistic expression through its classic color palette of black, white, and gray, creating an environment that promotes both productivity and employee well-being. The design, conceived by Zi Zhai and team, features innovative architectural elements such as an open arched doorway that maintains spatial fluidity while defining distinct functional zones. A notable 4-meter-long bar installation serves dual purposes as both a space divider and a relaxation area for employees. The project demonstrates exceptional attention to lighting design, incorporating anti-glare light sources with a carefully calibrated 4000K color temperature to ensure optimal working conditions. The design addresses spatial challenges through creative solutions, such as the installation of soft boards on wall-facing workstations, which serve both practical and aesthetic purposes. The project, completed in December 2019, earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial design, functionality, and innovative approach to contemporary office environments.
