Developed through an innovative design process that incorporates bi-directional topological computing software Ameba, the chair represents a balanced collaboration between human design intuition and algorithmic optimization. The manufacturing process involves traditional rattan craftsmanship techniques, including beating, picking, washing, tanning, arguing, pulling, chipping, bleaching, dyeing, weaving, and lacquering, ensuring both durability and authenticity. With dimensions of 850mm in length, 640mm in width, and 870mm in height, the chair is perfectly proportioned for various leisure environments, including homes, beaches, and resorts. The design particularly excels in providing comfort during warm weather, owing to the natural properties of rattan and its thoughtful construction. This innovative approach to furniture design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its contribution to contemporary furniture design through its blend of traditional materials and modern design methodologies. The chair's development, which took place between April 2022 and January 2024, demonstrates a careful consideration of human-centered design principles while addressing the challenges of integrating artificial intelligence in the creative process.
