Two Parallel Walls Designers Workspace
Two Parallel Walls Designers Workspace is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the masterful utilization of compact spaces, realized in a 150-square-foot office environment. Created by architect and designer Prashant Chauhan in Mumbai during 2018, this Bronze A' Design Award-winning workspace demonstrates exceptional spatial efficiency through its distinctive parallel-line concept, where workstations, lighting arrangements, and brass inlay floor patterns align harmoniously with two primary walls. The design's sophisticated integration of natural elements is manifested through its white terrazzo flooring, which features custom brass leaf inlays that create a visual continuity with the almond tree visible through the window. This thoughtful design approach extends to the incorporation of indoor fiddle fig plants, chosen specifically for their leaf profile's similarity to the exterior almond tree, establishing a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. The space's material palette showcases meticulous attention to detail, featuring polished concrete columns, 50mm thick terrazzo flooring with 8mm brass inlay plates, and a 3mm microtopping layer, all contributing to its refined aesthetic. The workspace's design philosophy emphasizes the harmonious balance between functionality and aesthetic impact, utilizing natural daylight and biophilic elements to create an atmosphere that feels both spacious and intimate. The project's success in transforming a minimal footprint into an impressive professional environment earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, highlighting its excellence in space optimization, material selection, and innovative design approach.
