Twilight Forest Residence

Twilight Forest Residence

Twilight Forest Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural elements with modern living spaces. Located in Taipei City, Taiwan, this 82.644-square-meter renovation project transforms a two-decade-old house into a sophisticated contemporary dwelling that seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor environments. The design, conceived by Yu Fen Lee, features a thoughtful layout comprising three bedrooms and two public areas, including an entrance, living room, dining room, kitchen, study room, and two bathrooms. The project's distinctive approach involves the innovative use of organ curtains to optimize natural light while maintaining privacy, and the strategic implementation of environmentally friendly materials such as KD coating boards, EGGER system boards, and clear glass. The design overcomes structural challenges through ingenious solutions, such as utilizing beveled KD coating plates to conceal ceiling beams, transforming potential visual impediments into aesthetic geometric elements. The space is characterized by clean lines, gentle wood materials, and a harmonious white and gray color palette, creating a multi-layered environment that celebrates the surrounding maple forest views. Notable features include an open-plan public area and a glass-partitioned study room that promotes natural ventilation and lighting. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional space optimization through the strategic readjustment of the public toilet area and TV wall configuration, incorporating clever storage solutions that enhance both functionality and spatial flow.
