Turning Back Time Cafe Store is an innovative interior design project that masterfully blends Victorian-era industrial aesthetics with contemporary French dessert shop elements, created by a team of designers in Taichung City, Taiwan. This 808-square-meter commercial space exemplifies a sophisticated fusion of historical and modern design elements, featuring an intricate arrangement of wooden architectural structures complemented by green-and-blue bricks that evoke European charm. The design's centerpiece includes a captivating bronze clock and meandering copper tubes that pay homage to 19th-century industrial coffee machine factories, while ornamental planet globes suspended from the ceiling symbolize the passage of time. The space's distinctive character is enhanced through the strategic implementation of diverse materials including wood, iron, mosaics, bricks, and copper, which collectively reinforce the retro European countryside aesthetic while incorporating contemporary craftsmanship. Notable design elements include vista walls adorned with literary texts that extend to the ceiling, creating a unique fusion of literature and culinary arts. The layout facilitates smooth traffic flow throughout the establishment, while the comprehensive use of spanning lines and copper materials creates a laid-back atmosphere. The installation of clock gear adornments in various sizes throughout the space reinforces the temporal theme, symbolizing the power to reverse time and embodying the core spirit of the design concept. This exceptional interior design project was recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design, material selection, and cultural integration.
