Tu Quoque
Tu Quoque, also known as the you too fallacy, is a type of logical fallacy that occurs when a person attempts to defend themselves or their actions by pointing out that the accuser has done the same thing. This fallacy is often used as a way to deflect criticism and avoid taking responsibility for one's actions. The main problem with Tu Quoque is that it does not address the issue at hand. Instead of addressing the criticism or accusation, the person using Tu Quoque attempts to shift the focus onto the accuser. This can be frustrating for the accuser, as it can feel like the person is not taking the issue seriously or is trying to avoid accountability. It is important to note that just because someone has done something similar in the past, it does not mean that the current criticism or accusation is invalid. Each situation should be evaluated on its own merits, and the focus should be on addressing the issue at hand rather than deflecting blame. In order to avoid using Tu Quoque, it is important to take responsibility for one's actions and address any valid criticism or accusations head-on. This can help to build trust and credibility, as well as promote a more productive and constructive dialogue.

Tu Quoque
Tu Quoque is a logical fallacy that happens when someone tries to defend themselves from criticism by pointing out that the person criticizing them has done the same thing. For example, if someone said that it was wrong to eat unhealthy food, another person might respond by saying, “You also eat unhealthy food sometimes!” This is Tu Quoque because the person is trying to deflect criticism by saying the same thing applies to their critic.
Tu Quoque fallacy, cognitive bias, argumentum ad hominem, double standard, excuse.
