TTMM (after Time) Watchface Apps Collection

TTMM (after time) Watchface Apps Collection is an innovative digital interface design project comprising 40 distinct watchface applications specifically crafted for smartwatches with black and white 144×168 pixel screens. Developed between May 2012 and August 2013 by designer Albert Salamon in collaboration with programmer Michal Zylinski, this collection represents a significant departure from traditional watchface designs, eschewing conventional mechanical clock simulations and retro LCD screen aesthetics in favor of minimalist, energy-efficient digital displays. Each watchface in the collection is available in both black and white variants, emphasizing simplicity, elegance, and aesthetic refinement while maintaining optimal functionality. The collection's technical implementation utilized Adobe Illustrator for design, Type Tool 3 for font preparation, and Adobe Photoshop for bitmap editing, with final programming executed through Pebble SDK and XCODE. The resulting binary applications, ranging from 8 to 24 Kb in size, demonstrate remarkable efficiency in both data usage and energy consumption, making them particularly eco-friendly. The project's innovative approach to digital timekeeping earned recognition with a Golden A' Design Award in the Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design category, acknowledging its contribution to advancing digital interface design. The collection's distribution system operates through a dedicated application for Android and iOS platforms, allowing users to browse, purchase, and upload different watchface designs to their devices, effectively transforming the traditional concept of timepiece customization into a dynamic, digital experience.
