Travler's Ark Interior Design

Travler's Ark Interior Design

Travler's Ark Interior Design is an innovative interior design project that reimagines hospitality spaces through a conceptual lens inspired by the journey motif and Noah's Ark narrative. Located in Taichung City, Taiwan, this 1,586.784-square-meter space masterfully integrates elements of travel, discovery, and sanctuary into its architectural vocabulary. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, employs sophisticated material combinations including marble, mirror, leather, and custom furniture and lighting fixtures to create an immersive environment. The spatial arrangement features thoughtfully positioned screens that serve both functional and aesthetic purposes, dividing areas while creating dynamic vertical elements within horizontal spaces. Notable artistic elements include symbolic sculptures of two elephants and a bird carrying a leaf, referencing the biblical ark's quest for new beginnings. The design incorporates literary references and travel-themed quotations throughout the space, including works by prominent writers such as Henry Miller, fostering an intellectual and contemplative atmosphere. The project, completed between 2011 and 2016, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its integration of natural landscape elements, manipulating light, shadow, wind, and flow patterns to create a multisensory experience that transforms the conventional hospitality environment into a dreamlike journey for visitors.
