Tranquility Residential Apartment
Tranquility Residential Apartment is an exemplary residential interior design project that embodies the principles of minimalist luxury and spatial harmony, completed in 2017 in Taichung City, Taiwan. This 135.5-square-meter apartment, designed by Cheng-Hsuan Huang, demonstrates a sophisticated approach to contemporary living spaces through its thoughtful integration of natural light, material selection, and spatial planning. The design philosophy centers on creating a serene atmosphere that reflects the client's low-profile personality while incorporating subtle elements of modernity. The apartment's distinctive features include a carefully curated color palette dominated by low-saturated grays, punctuated by a striking indigo sofa that serves as a focal point. The material composition showcases a layered approach, utilizing eco-friendly paint derived from recycled reservoir sludge, stone walls, wood veneers, powder-coated metals, and marble elements. The spatial organization divides the apartment into two main sections through innovative hidden door systems, enhancing both the perceived spaciousness and privacy. Notable architectural solutions include the creative treatment of exposed beams, which were transformed into feature elements rather than being concealed. The layout encompasses a foyer, living room, reading room, master bedroom, guest bedroom, locker room, three bathrooms, dining room, and kitchen, with the master bedroom being thoughtfully expanded to better serve the single occupant's lifestyle. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies excellence in residential interior design through its harmonious blend of functionality, aesthetics, and sustainable materials.
