Tranquil Residence Resident

Tranquil Residence Resident

Tranquil Residence Resident is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in 2018, located in the Anping District of Tainan, Taiwan, that exemplifies the harmonious integration of functionality, aesthetics, and familial warmth within a five-story, 150-square-meter detached house. The design philosophy centers on returning to the fundamental essence of home as a sanctuary for relaxation and family connection, achieved through a sophisticated minimalist approach that employs light color tones, natural materials, and thoughtful spatial planning. The project, designed by Tung Chieh Chen and Chun Hsiao Chou, features a masterful combination of timber elements, rough surface stone tiles, and metallic accents to create tactile and visual warmth throughout the space. The residence's vertical layout encompasses carefully curated zones including living and dining areas, two master bedrooms, additional bedrooms, and a dedicated study space, all unified by a cohesive design language that promotes both personal privacy and family interaction. The designers successfully addressed the challenge of maintaining visual interest within a minimalist framework by incorporating strategic decorative elements and creating dedicated reading spaces that reflect the family's literary interests. This exceptional interior design project, recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates outstanding achievement in spatial optimization, material selection, and the creation of an environment that nurtures both individual well-being and family bonds.
