Towering As Mountain Interior Design
Towering as Mountain Interior Design is an innovative residential interior design project completed in 2013 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates natural elements and architectural aesthetics to create a harmonious living environment within an urban setting. The 165-square-meter space exemplifies a sophisticated approach to biophilic design, featuring thoughtfully curated materials and elements that evoke the serenity of mountain landscapes and lakeside environments. The design's distinctive features include an artistically conceived public space encompassing the living room, study room, dining room, and kitchen, characterized by the strategic use of stones, mirrors, and carved screens adorned with leaf silhouettes that create an immersive forest-like atmosphere. A notable architectural element is the installation of an ornate carved screen between the living and dining areas, which not only serves as a functional partition but also contributes to the visual expansion of the space while maintaining the design's natural motif. The project's innovative use of undulating ceiling mouldings and mirror-reflection effects successfully mimics the shimmer of natural water bodies, while the implementation of light-absorbing materials and carefully selected earth-toned color palettes enhances the natural ambiance. The design, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional expertise in spatial planning, material selection, and atmospheric creation, effectively bringing the tranquility of natural environments into an urban residential setting.
