Top-Down Bottom-Up

Top-Down Bottom-Up is a term used in various fields, including management, economics, and psychology, to describe two different approaches to problem-solving and decision-making. In management, Top-Down refers to a hierarchical approach where decisions are made by those in positions of authority and then communicated down to lower levels of the organization. On the other hand, Bottom-Up refers to an approach where decisions are made by those at the lower levels of the organization and then communicated up to higher levels. In economics, Top-Down refers to an approach where macroeconomic policies are made at the national or global level and then implemented at the local level. Bottom-Up, on the other hand, refers to an approach where economic development is driven by local communities and individuals. In psychology, Top-Down refers to the processing of sensory information based on prior knowledge and expectations, while Bottom-Up refers to the processing of sensory information based on the raw data received by the senses. Overall, Top-Down Bottom-Up can be seen as two different approaches to problem-solving and decision-making, with Top-Down being more centralized and hierarchical, and Bottom-Up being more decentralized and participatory.

Top-Down Bottom-Up

Top-Down Bottom-Up is an image composition technique found in anime, comics and manga for drawing a character’s body posture. It uses the separation of the image composition into two components; the top half of the body and the lower half of the body respectively. This technique is often used when it is important to portray a dynamic pose for a character, especially when depicting fights and action sequences. The artist is able to create a pose that is well balanced, both aesthetically and structurally, by separating the top and bottom halves of the body and focusing on their individual characteristics.
