Tomson Riviera Penthouse
Tomson Riviera Penthouse is a distinguished residential interior design project located in the core of Shanghai's Lujiazui financial center, exemplifying the harmonious fusion of modern luxury and Oriental philosophy. This meticulously crafted 649-square-meter penthouse, completed in July 2019, represents a significant achievement in contemporary Chinese interior architecture, designed by renowned designer Ben Wu. The space articulates a Modern Oriental design language through its thoughtful integration of expansive whitespaces and traditional Chinese garden aesthetics. The interior features a sophisticated entrance with perforated metal plates surrounding miniature water features, leading to a grand main hall with 6-meter-high limestone walls and soft curved corners. A notable architectural element is the carefully designed staircase, finished in dark oak and white cowhide, which creates a dramatic journey toward views of the Huangpu River. The penthouse encompasses six rooms, including five fully functional suites, and incorporates approximately 120 square meters of storage systems, demonstrating an exceptional balance between grandeur and practicality. The design's distinctive features include a leather-wrapped arched wall inspired by palace domes, flowing spatial arrangements that reflect traditional Chinese garden principles, and meticulous attention to material selection and craftsmanship. This innovative interpretation of luxury living earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to contemporary residential design.
