Together And Relax Retirement Residence

Together And Relax Retirement Residence

Together and Relax Retirement Residence is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies modern residential architecture specifically tailored for retirement living, completed in Taichung in January 2019. This 110-square-meter space, designed by Kuan-Cheng Pu and Chien Hua Huang, masterfully integrates contemporary design principles with traditional Japanese aesthetics to create a harmonious living environment. The design philosophy centers on two fundamental concepts: togetherness and relaxation, achieved through thoughtful spatial planning and material selection. The public areas are seamlessly connected through sophisticated ceiling treatments that define different functional zones while maintaining visual continuity. The design features a progression of spaces including a living room, dining hall, bar, and Japanese-style room, all carefully orchestrated to promote social interaction and family bonding. The aesthetic approach employs minimalist lines and a refined color palette, creating a serene atmosphere throughout the residence. Notable design elements include an entrance screen with wood grain detailing, an asymmetrical stone collage on the TV wall that evokes traditional ink paintings, and a modern interpretation of a Japanese-style room that replaces traditional tatami with contemporary colored cushions. The project, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, demonstrates exceptional attention to material harmony and spatial functionality. The designers' innovative approach to combining different materials and colors adheres to principles of simplicity and sophistication, while incorporating practical features such as folding and sliding doors to enhance spatial flexibility and functionality. The thoughtful integration of display areas, storage solutions, and lighting design creates a sophisticated living environment that caters to both aesthetic and practical needs of retirement living.
