Tobacco Teeth Anti-smoking Advertising

Tobacco Teeth Anti-smoking Advertising is an innovative public awareness campaign that reimagines cigarette packaging as a powerful visual metaphor for dental deterioration, created by Serbian designer Miroslav Vujovic in 2016. This groundbreaking design concept consists of a three-part visual presentation and a functional cigarette pack replacement that transforms the conventional packaging into a stark reminder of tobacco's harmful effects. The design employs a clever die-cut opening at the mouth position, where cigarettes themselves become visual representations of teeth, creating a dynamic and deteriorating image as cigarettes are removed from the pack. This ingenious approach to anti-smoking messaging operates on multiple levels: as large-format advertising for billboards and city lights ranging from B2 to 4x3 meters, and as an intimate, personal deterrent in the form of a standard king-size cigarette pack (55x12x88mm). The project emerged from Serbia's concerning position as one of the world's highest per-capita cigarette consumers, addressing the limitations of conventional health warnings and campaigns. The design's effectiveness lies in its direct, visceral impact and its ability to create an immediate connection between the act of smoking and its consequences. The campaign gained significant international recognition, including a Silver A' Design Award in the Public Awareness, Volunteerism, and Society Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to social messaging and its potential impact on public health awareness. The project's viral success across multiple digital platforms and social media channels demonstrates its resonance with global audiences, effectively communicating its message across cultural and linguistic barriers.
