Time Of Year Residential

Time Of Year Residential

Time of Year Residential is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of Oriental Zen philosophy with modern living spaces. Completed in January 2022 in Taiwan, this 257-square-meter residential space masterfully combines two apartments on the 12th floor to create a thoughtfully designed living environment that celebrates the natural beauty and temporal qualities of wood. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, features symmetrical layouts and rounded architectural elements that create a sense of balance and tranquility throughout the space. At its core, the project showcases an extensive use of Laotian solid wood, incorporating it into flooring, furnishings, and architectural details to create an atmosphere rich with natural wood fragrance. The residence comprises a centrally-located public area surrounded by specialized spaces including a meditation room, tea area, and multiple bedrooms, each with its own bathroom system. Notable design elements include curved ceilings with indirect lighting that emphasizes the wood grain patterns, creating a warm and enveloping atmosphere. The project demonstrates exceptional attention to practical considerations, incorporating fossilized wood for door and window frames to maintain aesthetic consistency while ensuring ease of maintenance. The design successfully addresses the client's retirement lifestyle needs through dedicated spaces for tea ceremonies and meditation, while thoughtfully accommodating family members with personalized bedroom designs, including a light green room for the client's son that maintains the overall circular motif connecting public and private spaces.
