The Rhyme Of Ink Residential
The Rhyme of Ink Residential is an award-winning interior design project that masterfully integrates Oriental ink painting aesthetics with contemporary residential architecture, completed in 2019 in Taoyuan city, Taiwan. This sophisticated residential space exemplifies the harmonious fusion of Eastern philosophical concepts with modern living requirements, utilizing a thoughtfully curated palette of black and white shades to create a dynamic interplay between dense and scattered spatial layouts. The design's foundational concept draws from the principles of Qi and Rhyme in Eastern philosophy, manifested through an open, spacious layout that seamlessly incorporates natural elements. The project features distinctive architectural elements including an entrance adorned with Oriental painting stones, matte-finish steel tiles, and a prominent Hanjiangxue marble TV wall, which required innovative structural solutions to support its substantial weight. The interior demonstrates exceptional material artistry through the strategic combination of wood and stone elements in public areas, while private spaces showcase varied fabric materials and bright color harmonies tailored to individual resident preferences. The design incorporates advanced smart home technology, enabling comprehensive control of situational lighting throughout the space, while skillfully concealing complex circuitry to maintain aesthetic cleanliness. A notable feature is the kitchen area's thoughtful division into wet kitchen, island dining table, and formal dining space, reflecting traditional Fujian family dining customs while ensuring optimal functionality. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies how contemporary design can successfully interpret traditional elements while meeting modern lifestyle demands.
