The Revolving Axis In White Space Residential House
The Revolving Axis in White Space Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully integrates Nordic minimalism with modern luxury aesthetics, created by designer Sheng-Hao Sun. This 210-square-meter dwelling, completed in 2016 in Taipei, Taiwan, is distinguished by its sophisticated spatial organization centered around two primary axes defined by stone frames and a white electric fireplace wall. The design's most notable feature is its dynamic adaptability, achieved through a system of black partitions that can be manipulated to transform the spatial experience, enabling seamless transitions between open communal areas and intimate private spaces. The interior architecture is characterized by its thoughtful material palette, incorporating mirror-finished stainless steel, black iron, white marble, and black mirror surfaces, which work in harmony to create a refined atmospheric quality. The space is further enhanced by carefully considered lighting elements, including a crystal chandelier that reflects dramatically off the metal dome ceiling, creating layers of visual interest. The design successfully addresses the challenge of reconciling divergent style preferences, harmoniously blending Nordic simplicity with contemporary luxury through precise architectural detailing and sophisticated material selections. Natural light plays a crucial role in the design, with afternoon sunlight creating an ever-changing interplay of light and shadow across the white bookshelf wall, transforming everyday activities into contemplative experiences. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies excellence in spatial planning, with particular attention paid to the integration of functional zones and the creation of versatile living environments that can adapt to various social scenarios while maintaining aesthetic coherence.
