The Residence Where The Children Grow Up Residence
The Residence where the Children Grow Up Residence is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural light, spatial fluidity, and family-centered living. Located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, this 99-square-meter dwelling represents a sophisticated solution to the challenge of transforming a previously dark and confined space into an open, light-filled environment. The design, conceived by Chia-Hung Weng, features strategically placed solid glass wall tiles that facilitate the abundant infiltration of daylight, effectively dissolving traditional spatial boundaries and creating a seamless, translucent public area. The residence's distinctive features include a thoughtfully relocated dining room, which serves as a focal point of family gatherings, complemented by a striking contrast between the luminous atmosphere and dark coffee table elements in the living room. The design incorporates powerful three-dimensional lines that flow from a white artificial dining table to a brown wooden veneer wall, masterfully manipulating spatial dimensions. The study room showcases apple-green racks against large window blinds, while the main wall features assembled woods with tender textures that symbolically record family memories. The outdoor space is characterized by light pebble groundwork, complemented by silvery messerschmidia and wooden chairs, creating a harmonious family atmosphere. This project, which was completed in December 2015, earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its exceptional approach to creating an environment that nurtures childhood development and family bonding through innovative spatial design.
