The Poetic Moon Hangcheng Mansion Sales Office

The Poetic Moon Hangcheng Mansion Sales Office

The Poetic Moon Hangcheng Mansion Sales Office is an exemplary architectural interior design project that masterfully integrates traditional Jiangnan aesthetics with contemporary spatial design principles, completed in April 2023 in Hangzhou, China. This 428-square-meter space demonstrates exceptional cultural sensitivity in its interpretation of West Lake's scenic landscapes, transforming them into interior design elements that resonate with both historical context and modern functionality. The L-shaped layout features a strategically positioned northwest entrance that welcomes visitors with an abstract water scene, setting a contemplative tone that flows throughout the space. The interior design is distinguished by its sophisticated use of traditional materials, including locally-sourced silk for folding screen partitions, antique wood treatments for walls and ceilings, and authentic Jiangnan elements such as rough stone and logs. The project's distinctive diagonal wall configuration, enhanced by classical paintings and rustic fabric-like materials, creates a coherent spatial narrative that bridges traditional Chinese aesthetics with contemporary design sensibilities. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, exemplifies meticulous attention to detail in its material selection, color harmonization, and spatial flow, successfully creating an environment that honors cultural heritage while serving modern commercial purposes. The project's research-driven approach, incorporating studies of West Lake's historical significance and Jiangnan garden rhythms, results in a thoughtfully curated space that effectively balances aesthetic refinement with functional requirements.
