The Palace With A Secret Code Residential House

The Palace With A Secret Code Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of light, materiality, and spatial aesthetics. Located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, this 30-square-meter space, completed in December 2016, represents a sophisticated approach to contemporary living through its masterful manipulation of light and reflection. Designed by Ching-Ya Chou, the project draws inspiration from kaleidoscopic principles, incorporating crystal elements, glass features, and strategic mirror placements to create an ever-changing visual experience. The design's distinctive characteristic lies in its ability to transform ordinary moments into extraordinary experiences through the interplay of natural and artificial light with carefully selected materials, including Turkish blue marble, leaded glass, and crystal elements. The space employs traditional Zhushan crystal craftsmanship, featuring beveled cuts and diamond-shaped lattice techniques that enhance the interior's artistic value while paying homage to local artisanal traditions. The design philosophy centers on creating a retreat that responds dynamically to different times of day, where sunlight creates intricate patterns during daylight hours and moonlight produces an enchanting atmosphere at night. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category demonstrates exceptional innovation in residential design through its unique interpretation of light manipulation, material selection, and spatial organization, effectively transforming a compact living space into a sophisticated sanctuary that celebrates both functionality and aesthetic excellence.
