The Origins Of Style Japanese Sushi Restaurant
The Origins of Style Japanese Sushi Restaurant is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the evolution of contemporary Japanese dining spaces while maintaining deep respect for traditional aesthetics. Completed in October 2015 and situated in Taipei's bustling business district, this 160-square-meter establishment represents a pioneering approach to restaurant design that prioritizes material authenticity and spatial harmony. The design philosophy centers on the concept of letting materials speak for themselves, moving away from complex architectural statements to embrace a more essential and timeless aesthetic. The space features a sophisticated layered design approach, beginning with a veneer substrate that provides the foundational texture, complemented by traditional Japanese elements that create an atmosphere of lightness and permanence. A distinctive blue and white pattern, characteristic of traditional Japanese design, serves as a second layer across the front of the space, creating a subtle yet effective visual contrast. This thoughtful integration of elements demonstrates exceptional spatial planning and material selection, earning the project a Gold A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2016. The restaurant's design represents a significant departure from contemporary trends, emphasizing simplicity and natural elements to communicate quality and authenticity through its architectural language. Designed by Ahead Concept Design under the leadership of CHUN-SUNG YANG and YU-CHENG LO, the project successfully creates an environment where the dining experience is enhanced through careful consideration of spatial dynamics and traditional Japanese design principles, marking a return to fundamental design values while maintaining a contemporary relevance.
