The Little World Residential
The Little World Residential is an innovative small-space apartment design project completed in 2019, showcasing exceptional space optimization and multifunctional design solutions within a compact 53-square-meter floor plan. Located in New Taipei City, this residential interior design masterfully addresses the challenges of modern urban living while catering to the specific lifestyle needs of its DINK (Double Income No Kids) occupants. The design's distinctive approach incorporates a sophisticated balance of functionality and aesthetics, featuring a unique blue and white color scheme derived from the owners' personal belongings. The project's architectural ingenuity is particularly evident in its creative space allocation, including a dedicated cigar room with a negative pressure environment, a multifunctional wall system integrating storage solutions, and a transformed master bedroom that prioritizes rest and relaxation. The design employs innovative material treatments, such as specially mixed cement walls with hand-painted finishes, creating authentic textural expressions that enhance the space's character. Notable design elements include the seamless integration of three distinct zones - the entrance, dining room, and cigar room - connected through a continuous multifunctional wall that serves various purposes while maintaining spatial flow. This exemplary work in small-space design was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to residential interior design solutions that effectively balance aesthetic appeal with practical functionality.
